HEUTE HAB ICH VIEL ZU ERZÄHLEN/RANDOM STUFF ABOUT TODAY

Heute hab ich zwar vieles zu erzählen, trotzdem versuch ich mich kurz zu fassen, da ich sehr müde bin.

[Today I have to write about a lot of different things, but I'll try to write short. I'm very tired.]

Heute habe ich mit Kou's und Natasha's Hilfe versucht eine Prepaid-Karte für mein Handy zu erhalten. Das ging sowas von schief.
Mobil in Japan sein zu wollen, ist für mich einfach unmöglich!
Wenn ich ein Handy mit Vertrag will, müsste ich direkt 2 Jahre zahlen. Ein Prepaid-Handy kann ich aber auch vergessen, denn der Vertrag geht 1 Jahr.
Also dachten wir, weil mein Handy kein Simlock besitzt, organisieren wir mir doch einfach nur eine Prepaid-Karte. Blöd nur, dass mein Handy beim Scan nicht erkannt wurde. Es ist 1. eine ultra alte Krücke und 2. gibt es die Marke gar nicht in Japan.
Tja...also bleib ich wohl ohne Handy. Eigentlich nicht so schlimm für mich. In Notfällen benutz ich jetzt halt doch mein normales Handy.

[Today I tried (with the help of Natasha and Kou) to buy a prepaid card for my German mobile phone. But everything went wrong.
It's impossible for me to be "mobile" in Japan!
If I want to buy a mobile phone I have to do a contract about 2 years. If I want to buy a prepaid mobile phone the contract is about 1 year... Even too long.
That's why we thought (when we noticed that my mobile phone has no simlock) we could buy a prepaid card. HA! My mobile phone couldn't be scanned, because it's very old and things of the 

producer aren't buyable here in Japan.
So I have no mobile phone. I don't mind. If there's an emergency I'll use my normal German mobile phone.]

Ich wollte unbedingt ein Foto- oder englischsprachiges Buch zum Thema "Kimono" und "Sado"(Teezeremonie) kaufen. Aber nichts da. Ich hab nichts passendes bekommen...
Dafür habe ich dann einfach ein Buch über die japanische Kultur generell gekauft. Es soll mich auf neue Ideen für mein Fotoprojekt bringen.
Dazu Morgen aber mehr, da ich mich dann erst mit meinem Dozenten über meine Ideen unterhalten werde.

[I wanted to buy a photo- or English book about "Kimono" and "Sado"(tea ceremony). But I didn't find something like this....
So I bought a book about the Japanese culture in general. I hope to get some new ideas for my photo project.
But tomorrow I'll tell you more about it. First I have to talk with Nakamura about my ideas.]

Ich hab einen Second Hand Laden entdeckt, der auch Figuren anbietet. Ja, die Figur hab ich natürlich wieder für meine Schwester gekauft.
Außerdem habe ich endlich (nach langem Suchen) Postkarten entdeckt! Mama, Papa, bald gibt's Post.

[I was at a second hand shop and they also sold some figures of anime characters. Yes, the figure is for my twin again.
And I found postcards! It was a long search, but finally I could buy some. Mummy, daddy, you'll get some post.]

Den großen Plüschhasen habe ich (Dank Nathalie's Hilfe!) in der Taito Game Station bekommen.
900Yen und viel Aufregung hat uns das gekostet. Und wir haben ihn auch nur Dank eines sehr sehr netten Mitarbeiters ergattern können. Er hat ihn uns 3 mal neu hingehangen (immer ein Stückchen näher zum Abgrund) und beim letzten Mal sogar erklärt, wo wir den Greifarm hinlenken sollen... Ich glaube er hatte wirklich Mitleid mit uns. Zumindest hat er am Ende breit gegrinst, als ich den Hasen endlich glücklich in meine Arme schließen konnte.
Ich habe zuerst nur aus Frust versucht den Hasen zu bekommen, da das Plüschtier, was ich eigentlich wollte, nicht mehr da war. Jetzt mag ich ihn aber doch sehr gerne!

[I got the big plush bunny with Nathalie's help at the taito game station.
Just say: 900Yen and some broken nerves... And we just got it because one of the staff helped us. Three times he put the bunny in a new position (always a little bit closer to the abyss) and the last time he told us where to direct the grappler ... I think he really felt symphathy on us. At least he smiled when I was finally able to hug the bunny.
First I only tried to get the bunny, 'cause I was frustrated that the plush doll I wanted wasn't there anymore. But now I like it very much!]

Kalte Füße? Nicht mit dem Aircon!/Cold Feet? Aircon!

AIRCON

Heute war ein recht normaler Unitag mit 2 Japanischkursen.
Allerdings war heute auch der erste Tag, an dem ich wirklich gefroren habe, seit ich hier in Japan gelandet bin. Schuld daran ist der Taifun.

[Today was a common day at university with 2 Japanese lessons.
But today was also the first day I was cold since I'm in Japan. It's the typhoon's fault.]

Kaum zu Hause angekommen, hab ich mir erstmal dicke selbstgestickte Socken (Danke Mama!) und flauschige Hausschuhe angezogen. Dazu gab's dann noch eine richtig heiße Matcha Milch. Aber nichts da! So richtig warm wurde mir trotzdem nicht.

[When I arrived at our home I had to put on some thick self knitted socks (Thank you mummy!) and fluffy slipper. I also made me a very hot matcha milk. But I didn't help much.]

 


Ich habe ehrlich gesagt auch noch keinen einzigen Heizkörper gesehen. Weder im Hotel, noch in der Uni und schon gar nicht hier im Haus. Daher vermute ich schlichtweg, dass die meisten Haushalte hier einfach keine Zentralheizung besitzen.

[To be honest - I didn't see a single radiator. Not at the hotel, not at university and especially no one at our home. That's why I just think that most homes in Japan aren't equipped with central heating.
But maybe I'm wrong.]

Aber es gibt trotzdem eine wunderbare Methode warm zu werden, die ich selber gerade getestet habe. Die Wunderwaffe nennt sich Aircon!
Hier haben die lieben Klimaanlagen nämlich auch eine heizende Funktion. Bis zu 30°C warme Luft kann der Aircon erzeugen. Da wird es zumindest etwas wärmer.

[But there's a nice way to warm up a bit. I just tried it.
My weapon of choice to defeat the cold: Aircon!
Yes, Japanese air conditioner have a heating task too. 30°C warm air could be produced by the aircon. Now the temperature at my room is tolerable.]

Aber ich denke für einen echten Winter wird das nicht reichen. Also halte ich schon mal nach einer kuscheligen Decke Ausschau. Bisher waren alle Decken jedoch eher zu klein - ja, sogar für mich!
100 x 140cm reichen eben nicht aus.
Mal sehen. Mit etwas Glück findet sich schon eine.

[It won't be enough for a real cold winter, I think. That's why I'll be on the lockout for a new cuddly fluffy blanket. All blankets I have seen were just about 100 x 140cm. That's not long enough - even for a short person like me...but there'll be the right one. I just have to find it.]

Taifun/Typhoon

TAIFUN/TYPHOON

Im Moment regnet es nur. Allerdings soll der Taifun heute Nachmittag stärker werden und hier in Hiroshima wird es windiger und der Regen soll auch noch zunehmen. Alles in allem trifft es uns aber nicht hart. Also kein Bange!

[Thanks to the typhoon it rains the whole day... But the typhoon will become stronger at the afternoon. But don't worry!! Here in Hiroshima it's not so bad. It's just windy and rainy!]
 
Das ist jetzt schon der zweite Taifun, seit ich in Japan bin. Kikue meinte, es könnten noch ein Paar folgen....doof! Ich möchte doch viel besichtigen, aber wenn es regnet, macht das keinen Spaß!

[It's the second typhoon since I'm in Japan. Kikue told us that's possible there will be some more...not so nice! I want to visit and travel a lot but if it's raining the whole time it's not much fun!]

Außerdem haben wir heute schon 3 Mails von der Uni erhalten, dass wir bloß zu Hause bleiben sollen.

[We got 3 mails of the university today. They told us to stay at home and don't leave it today.]

Dafür habe ich jetzt eine Liste geschrieben, mit Sachen in und um Hiroshima, von denen ich bisher gehört habe und die ich unbedingt sehen möchte. Da ist doch Einiges zusammengekommen.

[I wrote a list a few minutes ago about things I know and want to visit here in Hiroshima and around. It's a little more as I thought.]

Außerdem möchte ich nächsten Monat auf jeden Fall ein Wochenende nach Osaka mit Kathi und Nathalie. Ansonsten stehen Nara, Kyoto und natürlich Toyko (über Weihnachten und Neujahr mit Felix) noch sehr weit oben auf meiner To-Do-Liste.

[Besides I want to travel to Osaka with Kathi and Nathalie next month. I also want to travel to Nara, Kyoto and of course Toyko (on christmas and new year with Felix).]

Fest zum Herbstanfang/Beginning of autumn festival

FEST ZUM HERBSTANFANG/BEGINNING OF AUTUMN FESTIVAL

Heute waren wir mit Kikue und Oka-san auf einem Volksfest - es wurde der Herbstanfang gefeiert.
Das Fest heißt Aki Matsuri.
Genau wegen solcher Sachen, wollte ich nach Japan kommen.
Das Fest fand auf dem Gelände eines Schreins statt und als wir ankamen, mussten wir unsere Hände mit Wasser reinigen und danach haben wir gebetet.

[Today we were at folk festival with Kikue and Oka-san - the beginning of autumn was celebrated.
The festival is called Aki Matsuri.
Exactly because of this things I wanted to go to Japan.
This festival was at the space of a shrine. When we arrived we had to clean our hands with water and prayed.]

Das war total spannend. Wir haben eine 5Yen-Münze in einen Opferstock geworfen, zwei mal in die Hände geklatscht und uns dabei leicht verbeugt. Ein Priester hat uns dann gesegnet.

[It was very interesting. We took a 5Yen coin and do a coin toss into an offertory box, then we had to clap our hands twice, took a little bow and were blessed by a priest.]

Die ganze Zeit fanden traditionelle Tänze mit verschiedenen Waffen statt. Ich habe unter anderem Tänze mit einem Katana und einem Naginata gesehen. Dazu wurde Flöte und Trommel gespielt.

[The whole time people danced a traditional dance with different kind of weapons. Amongst others I saw dances with katana and naginata. Musical background: Pipe and drums.]

Wir schienen ziemlich interessant zu sein. 

Mittlerweile bin ich es ja gewohnt, dass wir immer angestarrt werden, jedoch wurden heute auch viele Fotos von und mit uns gemacht.
Besonders, als wir im Schrein Sake mit ein paar Bekannten von Oka-san getrunken haben. Dazu durften wir getrockneten Tintenfisch probieren. Ich fand's super lecker.

[We were very interesting for the Japanese.
Meanwhile I'm accustomed that people stares on us, but today they took a lot of pictures of and with us.Especially when we drunk some sake at the shrine with friends of Oka-san. We could try dried squid to our sake. I liked it.]  

Es gab zwischendurch auch immer mal ein Feuerwerk. Ich liebe Feuerwerk! Also war das richtig klasse für mich.
Außerdem wurden irgendwann Süßigkeiten in die Menge geworfen.

[Occasionally there were some fireworks. I love fireworks! So it was the best for me.
And one time they throw candies into the crowd.]

Oka-san wollte uns unbedingt etwas zu Essen spendieren. Das war so unheimlich süß von ihr!
Wir haben uns dann für Taiyaki entschieden.
Das ist eine Waffel in Fischform. Meine war mit Matcha und ein paar süßen roten Sojabohnen gefüllt.
Ich hätte bestimmt 5 Stück davon verdrücken können, so lecker war das!

[Oka-san insist to buy some food for us. She's so lovely and cute and I really like her!!
So we ate some Taiyaki.
It's a waffel shaped like a fish. Mine was filled with matcha and some sweet red soybeans.
So delicious!]

Zu den Süßigkeiten, die wir gefangen haben:
Ich glaube es handelt sich um Mochi (ein Teig bestehend aus Reismehl und Wasser). Allerdings war dieses Mochi total hart. Ich kannte es bisher eher in weicher, zäher Konsistenz.
Na ja, auf jeden Fall fanden wir es zu hart, also hat Nathalie es mal eben in die Mikrowelle gepackt und erwärmt. Es war dann schon zäher, aber noch nicht so nach unserem Geschmack. Also wieder rein damit in die Mikrowelle. Es ist total aufgegangen, wie Hefeteig.
Am Ende hatten wir Puffreis. Hat trotzdem nicht so geschmeckt....

[About the candies we catched:
I think it was Mochi (dough of rice flour and water). 

But this mochi was quite hard. I just knew it in a softer, chewy texture.
It was too hard and not so tasty. So Nathalie took it into the microwave for a few minutes. It became softer and more chewy, but it didn't tasted. She took it in the microwave again. It rised like yeast dough. In the end we had puffed rice. But it didn't tasted at all.]

Willkommensparty und Takoyaki/ Welcome Party and Takoyaki

WILLKOMMENSPARTY & TAKOYAKI/WELCOME PARTY & TAKOYAKI

Heute war die offizielle Willkommensparty für alle Austauschstudenten. Dabei haben wir mit dem Club Takoyaki selber gemacht.

[Today was the offical welcome party for us exchange students. 
We made takoyaki all together with the club.]

 Das war richtig lustig.
Wir konnten selber entscheiden, womit die Takoyaki gefüllt werden sollten. Eigentlich füllt man sie mit Oktopus, aber das ist natürlich nicht gerade jedermanns Sache. So konnte man die Bällchen z.B. auch mit Käse, Würstchen oder anderen Kleinigkeiten füllen.

[It was a lot fun.
We could decide by our own with what kind of food we wanted to fill the Takoyaki. Normally you fill it with octopus, but not everyone liked it. We could fill them even with cheese, sausages oder different small food pieces.]

In einer Ecke wurde auch eine süße Variante mit Schokolade zubereitet.
Die Spaßvögel hatten jedoch einige Takoyaki nicht nur mit Schokolade gefüllt, sondern zusätzlich auch mit Wurststücken.... Natürlich habe ich so einen erwischt. Das war nicht ganz so lecker!

[In one courner they did a sweet version with chocolate.
But the funster filled some not only with chocolate...they took some sausage pieces in it too. Of course I got one of this... Not so tasty!]

 

 







Natürlich habe ich wieder neue und vorallem nette Leute kennengelernt.
Mit ein paar Mädchen werde ich demnächst sogar zum Karaoke gehen. Oje...wenn die erstmal hören, worauf sie sich eingelassen haben, werden sie es bestimmt ganz schnell bereuen!
Ich bin richtig schlecht im Singen.

[Of course I met new, but especially very friendly people again.
And I'll go to karaoke with some girls next time. Ouh...if they would know that I'm the worst singer in the whole world...but they'll see.]

Ich habe den Abend wirklich sehr genossen. Ich hoffe noch viele solcher Abende hier in Hiroshima zu haben. Das wäre das Schönste für mich.

[I really enjoyed the evening. I hope that I'll have a lot of evenings like this here in Hiroshima. That would be the most lovely thing for me.]

Matcha Kit Kat

MATCHA KIT KAT

Da ich schon sehr müde bin, gibt es heute nur einen kurzen Eintrag. Tut mir leid! Dafür wird der morgige Eintrag hoffentlich umso spannender - denn wir sind zum Takoyaki (Oktopusbällchen) machen eingeladen.

[Beause I'm very tired I just write a short post today. Sorry! But the next one tomorrow will be much more interesting I think - because we will make takoyaki with the club I told you before.]

Heute hatten wir mit dem Club zu Mittag gegessen.
Das war sehr nett und ich habe mich wieder mit neuen Leuten unterhalten. Ich mag das sehr. Also mit Leuten aus verschiedenen Kulturen reden zu können und sich auszutauschen.
Außerdem waren meine Onigiri super lecker, auch wenn ich nicht weiß, mit was sie eigentlich gefüllt waren. Irgendetwas fischiges auf jeden Fall.

[We had lunch with the club today.
That was really nice and I talked to new people again.
I love to meet people of different cultures and talk about everything and nothing special with them.
My onigiri were extremely delicious - even if I have no clue with what kind of fish they were filled.]

Ansonsten kann ich nur erzählen, dass ich mir heute mal Kit Kat mit Matcha gekauft habe. 

Ich hab bereits in Deutschland davon gehört und wollte sie unbedingt probieren, da ich Matcha ja wirklich sehr lecker finde. Allerdings bin ich doch schwer enttäuscht und werde sie wohl eher nicht nochmal kaufen. Sie schmecken nur ganz ganz leicht im Abgang nach Matcha. Schade!

[I just can tell you, that I bought some kit kat with taste of matcha today.
I heard about it in Germany and I really wanted to try them, because I love matcha. But I'm a little dissapointed. They just taste very very mild and just in the end like matcha. That's why I won't buy them again.]

Shopping

 SHOPPING

Heute haben wir nochmal die Chance genutzt in die Stadt zu fahren, bevor die Uni für uns so richtig los geht.

[Today we were shopping at Hondori Street again. We thought if the university will start for us we wouldn't have much time for it anymore.]

Wir waren wieder in dem Udon Laden und haben dort zu Mittag gegessen. Ich mag japanisches Essen!! Alles schmeckt so unendlich lecker.

[We ate udon again. I love Japanese food. It's so delicious!!]

Außerdem waren wir später noch im "Cha-no-wa", dort gibt es total viel mit Matcha. Das ist Grünteepulver und schmeckt sehr lecker. Neulich hatte ich dort schon ein Grüntee-Eis gegessen. Diesmal gab es nur eisgekühlten Grüntee zu trinken.
Ich habe mir dann direkt 100g des grünen Glücklichmachers mitgenommen. Ich liebe Matcha!

[Later we were at a café named "cha-no-wa", there's different food and drinks made of matcha. Matcha is a powder of green tea leaves. A few days ago I ate ice cream made of it. But today I just drunk some cold matcha.
And I had to buy 100g of this green tea. I just love it.]

 Heute habe ich direkt auch ein paar Geschenke gekauft. Unter anderem ein neues rosa Einhorn für Feli (ist so ein spezielles Ding zwischen uns).
Wir beide vermissen uns schon ziemlich doll....deswegen dachte ich, freut er sich vielleicht, wenn ich ihm das Einhorn zum Kuscheln (anstatt meiner Persönlichkeit) und ein paar Purikura nach Tsuruoka schicke. Purikura habe ich nämlich heute auch extra für Felix gemacht.

[I bought some gifts for christmas etc. today. The pink unicorn is for my lovely Felix (it's a special thingy between us).
We miss each other very much...that's why I bought the unicorn and made some purikura just for Felix today. Maybe he'll feel a little happy about it and cuddle the unicorn instead of me. I hope I could send the package to Tsuruoka soon, so he'll get it as soon as possible.]

Der Maleficent Jutebeutel ist natürlich für mich selber. Irgendwas muss man sich selbst ja auch mal gönnen, nicht wahr? Allerdings befürchte ich, dass ich aus Japan mit 10 - 20 neuen Jutebeuteln zurückkehren werde....

[The "Maleficent" tote bag is of course for myself. But I'm a little afraid when I have to leave Japan I'll already bought about 10 - 20 new tote bags...]

Die Figuren sind für meine Zwillingsschwester. Sie ist ein großer One Piece Fan und man möchte sich ja doch mal bei den eigenen Geschwistern einschleimen, um sich den Platz als "allerbeste Schwester" zu sichern. Vorallem wenn man schon eine Liste mit Namen bekommt, von denen Figuren "ganz toll" wären. Aber ich mach's ja gerne.

[The figures are for my twin. She likes One Piece a lot and sometimes you have to be nice to your own family, right? Especially if she gave me a list of her favorite characters and told me it would be nice to have some figures of them. But it's okay. I love my sister, so I do it.]

Deswegen nur noch mal für dich Jenny, mein Schwesterherz:
Die zwei Herren warten sehnsüchtig darauf mit der Weihnachtspost zu dir zu gelangen. Ich hoffe ich habe dir auch schöne Figuren deiner Lieblinge ausgesucht (wenn nicht, hast du Pech gehabt und freust dich gefälligst trotzdem!).

This two guys are just waiting to be send with the christmas package for you. I hope I bought some nice figures of your favorites (if not - not my fault! You have to be happy about them anyway!).]

Falls du bestimmte Figuren suchst, schick mir bitte Fotos. Fotografieren ist hier nämlich in den meisten Läden leider verboten, sodass ich dir die Auswahl nicht zeigen kann. Aber ich habe noch ganz viele tolle Zorro-Figuren gesehen.
Ich versuche dann die Figuren für dich zu finden!
