UNI-FEST/UNIVERSITY FESTIVAL
Am ersten Novemberwochenende fand das Uni-Fest statt. Für mich war das etwas ganz Besonderes, da wir soetwas in Deutschland nicht haben. Ich war sowohl Samstag, als auch Sonntag mit Natasha und Marie auf dem Fest. Dabei habe ich viele Freunde getroffen.
[The university festival was at the first weekend in November. For me it was really special and I was so excited. We don't have such a kind of festival at our university in Germany. So I had to visit it both days with Natasha. I also met a lot of friends there.]
Studenten aller 3 Abteilungen der Hiroshima City University haben etwas vorbereitet. Aber auch ehemalige Studenten haben bei diesem Fest geholfen.
[Students of all 3 faculties of the Hiroshima City University did something for the festival. Also former students prepared something.]
Draußen vor der Mensa wurde eine Bühne aufgebaut auf der die ganze Zeit ein Programm statt fand. So hat z.B. der A Cappella Club gesungen, der Dance Club getanzt, es gab ein Quiz etc.
In der Mensa selbst fand ein Flohmarkt statt, wo ich mir ein aus Kimonoseide hergestelltes Haaraccessoire gekauft habe.
[In front of the cafeteria was a stage. There was a program the whole day. The a cappella club sang, the dance club dances, there was a quiz too.
In the cafeteria itself was a free market. I bought a small hair accessory made of kimono silk.]
Vor der Bühne befanden sich ganz viele Essensstände, an denen man die verschiedensten Leckereien (von deftig bis süß) für wirklich günstige Preise kaufen konnte. Ich habe so unendlich viel gegessen!! Takoyaki (Octopusbällchen), gebackenes Eis, frittierte Momiji manju, hier mal ein Tee getrunken, dort nochmal was probiert...
[In front of the stage were a lot of small food shops, where I could buy a lot of food (hearty and solid - sweet) for very cheap prices. I ate so much!! Maybe too much...
Takoyaki (octopus in dough balls), baked ice, deep-fried momiji manju, drunk a cup of tea there, tried some food and drinks there...]
Ich habe auch mit Natsha und Sebastian (den wir zufällig getroffen haben) an einer Teezeremonie/Vorführung teilgenommen und eine Schale Matcha getrunken. Davor gab es ein wirklich großes Mochi (klebriger Kuchen aus Reismehl) in Anko (süßliche Paste aus roten Bohnen) gehüllt. Super lecker!
[Natasha, Sebastian (we met him by chance) and I also were at a tea ceremony/performance and drunk a bowl of matcha. Before the tea we got a big mochi (sticky rice cake) with anko (sweet red bean paste) cover. Tasty!]
In den Fakultäten selbst gab es z.B. auch Cafés, Konzerte und Verkaufstände. Am Besten fand ich die Sachen in meiner Fakultät.
Dort gab es Verkaufsstände von fast allen Fachrichtungen (Urushi, Textil, Grafik, Malerei) und ich konnte nicht anders, als zwei Schalen beim Stand des Töpfer Clubs zu kaufen.
Eine kleinere für Ocha (Grüner Tee) und eine große Schale für Matcha. Die kleinere Schale soll ein Geburtstagsgeschenk werden. Für wen kann ich aber nicht verraten, da die betreffende Person vielleicht diesen Post liest.
[In the faculties were cafés, concerts and some shops. But the best things were at the art faculty; my faculty.
There were shops of nearly every fields (urushi, textile, graphic design, painting) and I had to buytwo cups at the shop of the clay club.
A smaller cup for ocha (green tea) and a bigger bowl for matcha. The smaller cup should be a birthday present. But I can't tell for who (maybe the person reads this article).]
Auch musste ich beim Stand der Textil Studenten etwas kaufen. Ich habe mich sofort in dieses Bild verliebt und möchte es später (wieder in Deutschland) in mein Badezimmer hängen.
Ich möchte nächstes Semeter so gerne an den "Textile Painting" Kursen teilnehmen!
[I also had to buy something else - made by the textile students. I felt in love directly I saw this painting. If I'm back home in Germany I'll put it on a wall in my bathroom.
Next semester I want to visit the textile painting courses so much!]
Neben den Verkaufsständen gab es auch Ausstellungen in denen
ehemalige Studenten ihre Werke zeigten. Das war so beeindruckend! Das
Niveau hier ist so viel höher als in Deutschland!!
[There were also some exhibitions of former students. It was amazing. The niveau is a lot higher than in Germany!!]
Wie bereits erwähnt, gab es auch in den Gebäuden kleine Cafés.
Ich war mit Natasha im Café der "Contemporary Art" (moderne Kunst) Studenten. Das war mal eine witzige Erfahrung, denn das Café war im Dunkeln. Wir haben nur ein leuchtendes Armband und eine ganz kleine Lampe mit indirektem Licht erhalten. Zum Glück habe ich mich nicht mit der Suppe bekleckert.

Natasha and I ate at the café of the contemporary art students. It was a funny experience, because it was absolutely dark at the café. We just got a lighted bracelet and a very small lamp with indirect light. Thanks god I didn't make a mess.]
Sonntagabend gab es dann noch ein kleines "Hanabi" (Feuerwerk). Ich finde das sollte sich meine Uni mal ganz dringend abgucken, denn das Uni-Fest war wirklich klasse!
[Sunday evening there was a little "hanabi" (fireworks). In my mind my German university should do something like this too. It's gorgeous!]
